Al-Burhan Reveals Reasons behind Non-participation in Geneva Negotiations

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the Sudanese Armed Forces other regulars, the popular resistance, and the mobilizers in confronting and thwarting the plans of the Dagalo terrorist militia, pointing to its sacrifices in the battle of national dignity.
His Excellency praised, while addressing today, in Port Sudan, the meeting of journalists and media professionals, which was organized by the General Union of Sudanese Journalists, the solid and honorable stand of the media and the press with the Sudanese people and the armed forces in the battle of dignity, stressing that its doors are open to all journalists and media professionals, noting that the Sudanese people, the armed forces and the regular agencies are able to defeat this rebellion.
He stressed that there is no place for the rebel rapid support, as this is the decision of the Sudanese people. Lieutenant-General Al-Burhan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Sudanese people for the patience towards the atrocities of the Dagalo family and those who helped.
“We will not stop the war until after the end of this brutal rebellion and mercenaries.” Al-Burhan affirmed
He indicated that those in charge of the Geneva negotiations gave us an incomplete invitation, so we refused to participate in it,
He renewed Sudan’s non-acceptance of the UAE as a mediator, as well as his refusal to expand the Jeddah Forum.
Al-Burhan added that participation in any negotiations would be in the name of the Sudanese people and the government, adding, “We reject describing this war as a battlevbetween the Rapid Support Militia and the armed forces, affirming that the right of the Sudanese will not be lost as long as there are armed forces defending it.
In the impediment of relief and humanitarian aid, he stressed that Sudan is facing a great conspiracy, but the people and the armed forces are able to thwart these conspiracies.
Al-Burhan said that the competent authorities are monitoring all the media rooms at home and abroad that specialize in rumors and harmful media by the militia and their collaborators, indicating that some national media institutions were supported with equipment to continue their media mission.
He said that government is concerned with media and adding that some national media institutions were provided by equipment and devices to allow it continue its noble mission, besides allocating offices and shelter centers for journalists and media professionals
For his part, Minister of Culture and Information, Dr Graham Abdul Gadir, exoressed appreciation to the Head of the TSC for his availing the opportunity for journalists and the media to listen to their issues, praising the great role played by the various media and journalistic sectors in the Battle of Dignity.
Head of the Sudanese Journalists Union, Al-Sadiq Al-Rizaigi, prayed for journalists who were assassinated by the terrorist militia, and prayed to God to release the journalists detained by the RSF militia
He praised the position of the media and the press with the armed forces in the battle of dignity, noting the great role of journalists and media professionals in confronting the false counter-media from the militia and its media rooms.

He launched an initiative to rehabilitate media institutions that were destroyed by the war, stressing the need to provide health insurance services and some other services to journalists. The meeting witnessed interventions from a number of journalists and media professionals aimed at enhancing the role of the press and the media besides empowering media organizations with information so that it would play its role in a professional manner
