Al-Burhan receives Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdul Karim Al-Khereiji, who arrived in the country on an official visit.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, said in a press statement that the discussions dealt with the call to resume the Jeddah Platform.
He added that the Head of the Sovereign Council stressed Sudan’s keenness to make the Jeddah Platform a success, considering it a foundation upon which to build, emphasizing the necessity of implementing what was agreed upon in May 2023.
He said that the meeting also addressed the importance of expanding the base of facilitators in the Jeddah negotiations, indicating that the Head of the Sovereignty Council expressed his reservations about the presence of any party supporting the rebel militia.

Al-Burhan expressed his appreciation for the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the security and stability of Sudan, and its unlimited support, considering that Sudan’s stability has a direct impact on the security and stability of the region, pointing to the huge resources that Sudan has in various fields.

It is noteworthy that the meeting took place in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the General Intelligence Service.
