Sudan criticizes Volker Türk’s statement

The Sudanese government strongly criticized the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, and considered that his statement regarding the “Wad Al Noura” massacre committed by the Rapid Support did not include a clear condemnation of the forces.

A statement issued by the National Human Rights Mechanism said, “The Mechanism expresses its deep regret at the Commissioner’s statement of a premature description of the horrific Wad Noura incident without registering a strong condemnation of the real perpetrator and holding him fully responsible.”
