Health Ministry Reviews the Current Health Situation to UNSG Personal Envoy

The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohammad Ibrahim, affirmed that the health sector in Sudan, its health institutions, and the drug supply system have been greatly affected by the war and its extensions in more than one state, as well as its continuation for nearly a year, in addition to the transfer of the war from Khartoum to the Gezira State , which will break the health system’s back if the situation is not remedied. .

This came during a press statement following his meeting
with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Humanitarian Aid Commission with the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations,
Ramtane Lamamra .

The Minister pointed out that the current health situation in the country and the risks facing patients, especially those with chronic diseases, have been reversed, providing a comprehensive explanation of Ramtane Lamamra, praising his keenness to know the health conditions and wishing him success in his mission and that the United Nations will have an effective role in ending the security, health and humanitarian suffering.

The Minister also briefed Lamamra on the efforts made during the previous period to continue providing health services and the losses incurred by the health system, especially in the pharmaceutical supply.
