Seasons are one of God’s gifts for us. Having different degrees of high and low temperatures is one of the things that make one think of the greatness of God making and preserving this universe.
To be able to enjoy every season, we need to stay healthy and not get sick during any of them. This time, and due to the global climate change, Winter season has come after quite some time, the people of PortSudan have noticed and even worldwide Winter has different manifestations this year.
Here are some advices to stay healthy and prepared for the Winter:
1. Stay hydrated: and drink may fluids. In cold weathers people usually don’t drink as much as they do in hot weathers. This could result in many other health complications. So saty hydrated.
2. Drink warm to hot drinks all day: and that is to help keeping all the internal respiratory members moist and in good condition during cold weathers.
3. Inhale vapors of water every morning: this is a special tip for those who have sinuses issues, they might get inflamed or having too much mucus when exposed to different direct high and low temperatures at a time.
4. Vitamin C: drink as much lemon and orange juices as possible, you can also take external Vitamin C of average amounts. As vitamin C can prevent you from getting colds and will reduce their severity if you have them, whreras the mechanism of this vitamin is to help supporting your immune system, the one that is responsible for your good health.
5. Do not get exposed to direct cold air, wear as thick clothes as you can, and try to stay indoors specially at late nights and early mornings.
If you get any symptoms of cold, also follow the above advices and go to the nearest medical point and get medications as soon as possible. The Winter has just started.
In the last paragraph, I want all of us to pray to all those who have been internally displaced to be protected against these weather changes. It was not easy for them to flee their homes where they used to be sheltered and protected. And now they have the face both; the displacement and the Winter. This is a call to all organizations which are still operating from other states of Sudan; help those who at the open places, both inside of Sudan and out at its neighboring countries.
