General Intelligence Service (GIS)

Press Statement
Khartoum: 12 October, 2023

Reference to the news article published by Asharaq Alawsat on 12 October 2023 in which it said that a meeting was held between the Director of the General Intelligence Service (GIS), 1st Lt. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim Mufadal, and – what it called – the legal advisor of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) terror militia in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, we would like to clarify that:
1. No meeting of any kind was held between the director of GIS with any of the RSF militia rebels in any place in the globe, and we affirm that the details of the news article were fabricated.
2.The editing of the news article lacks professionalism as it did not refer to any reliable source to prove its credibility.
3. It is recognized that the media outlets which serve the rebel militia intend to fabricate such fake news whenever the Sudanese Armed Forces advance in the battlefield aiming at achieving political goals and raising the low morale of the RSF terror militia leaders after the continuous defeats in the battlefield.
4. We affirm our stance – since the first moment of the war – which is defending the security, unity and safety of our homeland and its people through our stand together with the Sudanese regular forces.
5. In conclusion, we confirm that what was published was mere defamation which had nothing to do with the reality; and that such methods have become exposed and could not deceive the intelligence of our well-aware people and serve only the enemies whom we all know.
May Allah the Almighty protect Sudan and its people.
Shame and disgrace to the enemies of Sudan.
