Governor of Khartoum calls for the establishment of a department for addiction treatment at Al-Tijani Al-Mahi Hospital:

The Governor of Khartoum, Mr. Ahmed Osman Hamza, pledged to complete the stalled projects at Tijani Al-Mahi Hospital for Psychiatric and Mental Diseases, including multi-storey wards, clinics, doctors’ rest halls, and the rehabilitation of laboratories.

The governor gave his directives to include these projects in the budget of the Federal Ministry of Health for the current fiscal year and to return the federal financial appropriations allocated to the hospital

During his visit to the hospital, accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qaim, and the Executive Director of Omdurman locality, Mr. Al-Hadi Abdel Sayed, the governor called for increasing the monthly financial support allocated to the hospital to ensure the provision of distinguished service to patients.

Dr. Al-Qaim revealed the postponement of more than 30 development projects within hospitals and health facilities in the state funded by the federal government, and explained that the reasons for stopping the projects are due to the economic conditions that the country is going through.
