Discovery of (255) dangerous areas in Sudan:  

UNITAMS said recommendations were provided to 256,834 people at risk of explosive ordnance in Sudan.

It said in a report that teams have recently discovered 255 hazardous areas for the presence of confirmed or probable explosive ordnance.
Clearance teams also found 32 anti-personnel mines, 14 anti-tank mines, 249.76 small arms ammunition and 2347,95 unexploded ordnance, all of which were destroyed.
Ninety-five survivors of explosive ordnance incidents, their families and persons with disabilities had received comprehensive assistance.

UNITAMS pointed out that the government of Sudan submitted a request to extend the deadline for the commitment to mine clearance, noting that the period was extended at the Twentieth Meeting of the States Parties, until April 2027, to complete the clearance of all mine-covered areas in the country.
