Khalid Omar: We Are Working to Achieve Social Justice in Sudanese Society

The Member of the Political Bureau of the Sudanese Congress Party, Eng. Khalid Omar Yousif, reaffirmed that the SCP is one of the most distinguished parties in terms of its foundation and spread and that the most important of its concerns is the achievement of social justice in Sudanese community, and that the party tends to be the Sudanese Centre-left Party, such as the French centre-left Socialist Party.
He asserted the party’s believe in peaceful means to reach democracy by using all means of political action.
During an event about the SCP entitled (who are we?and What do we want?), Khalid Omar, reviewed the activities of the party’s 6th General Conference, held under the slogan “Institutionalization of Change”, pointing to the first beginnings of the party which appeared through the conference of independent students in Sudanese universities in the seventies, which witnessed political conditions in which there was a division between the communists and the Islamists.
He pointed out that in 2005, the party was rebuilt and renamed as the Sudanese Congress party by electing Ibrahim Al-Sheikh as Secretary-General of the party and that the party is distinguished from other parties by representing 20% of the students.
He stressed that the next general conference is a culmination of all rgw efforts being made, providing solutions to all issues and addressing all organizational and political files, saying that the party is not elite as some claimed, but its membership includes various segments of society.
