The Global Tourism Resilience Day

Sudan is known with many of its tremendous natural environmental resources, that could serve as a source of food and environmental security for not just the Sudanese, but for the entire globe.
The great environment of Sudan at all its parts is representing a base for a strong massive tourism movement. Tourism in Sudan is a winning card, and when it finds the bright minds to just look at, bet on, and invest in it the right way, the economics of Sudan will nourish like never before.
On Friday 17th February 2023, the world has celebrated the Global Tourism Resilience Day. Where all the organizations of civil society, charity organizations, and the United Nations joined together to celebrate this amazing day which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to (emphasize the need to foster resilient tourism development to deal with shocks, taking into account the vulnerability of the tourism sector to emergencies. It is also a call for action for Member States to develop national strategies for rehabilitation after disruptions, including through private-public cooperation and the diversification of activities and products) UN stated on The Global Tourism Resilience Day.
Tourism is a major area for investment, and we have many sites in the country that are worthy of been improved and developed. Tourism insures many benefits for the country including;
First: the employment of women and youth, insuring them a stable income that helps them grow and give them the opportunity of becoming productive individuals.
Second: taking in consideration the ecotourism; which Sudan has it covered with its thousands of miles of different types of trees, forests, and wild life; the country is to be a major in attracting foreigners from all over the world, which will make Sudan more opened to international cultures, with an exchanging of its own with them, and this will serve as a channel to the world, through which Sudanese will be more able to learn about other cultures and languages.
Third: increasing the international trade by introducing what the country has of natural resources including some fruitful trees that are best cultivated only in Sudan. This will encourage the investors from around the world to consider collaborating in more trade movements between Sudan and their countries.
Forth: empowering women; opening more job opportunities and including women to participate will make the women of Sudan more empowered, appreciated, and having the chance of expressing their abilities to work hard and produce more. Ever since ancient times and until now, women at rural areas of Sudan have their own farms, practicing farming as their primary source of income, and they succeed every time. Those women are the ones who preserve these lands and continuously nourishing them with fruits that keeps them in a continuous state of fertility. This is one of the important matters that researchers will be interested in; visiting, seeing, and making researches about. Those women are the types of people we should celebrate the Global Tourism Resilience Day with.
Fifth: meeting the sustainable development goals; by working hard to ensuring the economic growth is on place, improving poverty situation in the country, and creating full and productive employment and decent work for all.
Sixth: being more resilient and include youth and their ideas in the process of planning for major national tourism strategies, will help increase the economic of Sudan. Today youths are the core of our society, they are tomorrows leaders, and they have many great ideas that will literally improve tourism in the country.
We in Sudan should participate in the annual celebration of the Global Tourism Resilience Day, as we have more natural and environmental resources that qualify us to be a pioneer in tourism.
