South Sudan Mediation Keens to Find Solutions to implement Juba Agreement

The rapporteur of the Southern Sudan’s Mediation committee, Dr. Dhieu Matouk, has affirmed the mediation’s keenness to find solutions to implement Juba agreement for peace in Sudan, especially the agreement is witnessing a number of challenges.

Addressing the opening session of the workshop to evaluate the implementation of Juba agreement for peace in Sudan ,today in Juba, Dr. Dhieu Matouk, said that the workshop helps in evaluating the implementation of the agreement to put an end to conflicts and realize stability and security in Sudan.

Dr. Matouk lauded Sudan’s efforts to achieve peace in the Republic of South Sudan, pointing out that security in Sudan is linked to stability and security in the state of South Sudan

The Secretary General of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement( SPLM/North), Ms Salwa Adam Benya, on her part, commended the efforts of the Republic of South Sudan to achieve peace in Sudan, saying that the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan addressed the root causes of the Sudanese crisis, adding that, despite the efforts being made for this agreement, the obstacles of financial resources impede its implementation of all its provisions and called on the representatives of the peace parties to establish mechanisms for monitoring , implementing and re- activating the eastern Sudan mechanism to carry out the agreement, expressing her hope that the workshop will come out with recommendations that contribute to its implementation.

The Egyptian ambassador in Juba affirmed his government’s keenness to achieve peace in Sudan and its standing at the same distance between all parties, referring to the efforts exerted by Egypt in bringing views closer to maintain stability and advancing development in Sudan.

Sheikh Ben Omar, Diplomatic Advisor to Chadian President Idris Déby, said that Sudan, South Sudan and Chad enjoy distinguished relations, adding that, “Our assistance to achieve peace in Sudan is as if we helped ourselves, stressing that the Chadian people are grateful to the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Lt General Salva Kiir Mayardit, for his great efforts to achieve security in Chad.
