New matrixes approach for implementation of Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan

The Rapporteur of the Mediation Committee, Dr. Dhieu Matouk, said that the committee adopted a new approach of matrixes of not linking it to time, so that the items can be implemented are implemented as a first stage befor the expected government of the transitional period.

He indicated in press statements, that the second matrix includes the classification of issues that need the new government to begin its implementation, pointing to execlusion of the timelines in the schedules, stressing: “peace is a great gain, so all parties must adhere to.”

He pointed to the African Union aspiration to solving African problems through African solutions, underlining that Juba peace agreement for Sudan is a model from which the African continent can benefit.

The mediation rapporteur disapproved divisions of the peace parties because of the implementation, saying: “There are movements that moved from Juba after the signing of the agreement as one movement, but it was divided in Khartoum.”

Mutouk noted that yesterday’s workshop reviewed the protocol of national and security issues, and the implementation rate which is considered low despite the appointment of senior officials in the Transitional Sovereignty Council and ministers in addition to the governors of the regions, but many of the provisions of the protocol were not implemented.

He stated that eight protocols that have been implemented were reviewed of which by the authority and the security aspect implemented, while six protocols that have not been implemented, he noted: “ today we will review the protocols of the two regions in addition to Tamazuj,” calling on the media to promote for this agreement to reach all Sudanese people.
