NCCW organizes the 1st meeting of the preliminary technical committee to form the Children’s Parliament

Children participated in the first preliminary technical committee meeting so as to form the Children’s Parliament with the participation of 12 children from the states, which was organized by the the National Council for Child Welfare (NCCW)in coordination with the States child Welfare councils , recommended the strictness of attention to health, education, rejection of domestic and school violence, as well as providing free education, fighting child labor, and solving the problems of homelessness and drugs.

The Secretary of the Secretariat of Coordination, Partnerships and States Affairs at the NCCW, Dr. Amira Azhari, briefed the participants an overview of the international conventions, regional charters and national laws on the rights of the child.

Ikhlas Gasem , Responsible of the Children’s Participation, referring to the objectives and conditions of membership of the Parliament.

Hana Al-Sharif, responsible for the States affairs file,
explaining that the Parliament is working to form a platform for children to express their needs and issues.

Hana said that the aim of forming the parliament is to establish a generation capable of living in safety and peace, as well as raising awareness among Arab children of parliamentary work to consolidate the values of democracy and equality in decision-making
