The Grand Symposium Khartoum without Drugs

The Higher Committee for the activities of Khartoum International Fair organized a symposium on drugs, experts calling on the United Nations to provide technical assistance to help it limit the spread of drugs in Sudan within the African axis.

The Higher Committee for the activities of International Fair of Khartoum organized the major symposium on the spread of drugs in Sudan, with the honor of the attendance of experts from international organizations in Khartoum.

Dr. Sarah said that drugs represent a real threat to Sudanese society, and the state must work towards combating drugs with an integrated view that includes the school, the hospital, the mosque, the home, the law and the judiciary, and the community and families must follow up on students and youth by strengthening the ties of the family bond,
She stressed the need for government agencies such as the Zakat chamber to support, in coordination with the competent authorities, in constructing addiction treatment centers, because they require an exorbitant cost.
For his part Dr Yasir Abu Salim, Director of the Institute for Child Rights, said that the spread is among the ages between 18 and the age of youth, and it is targeting the human cadre of young people, and the state should enact deterrent penalties. He called on the united nations program in Sudan to copperate with Sudan’s government to combat drugs and Sudan is a vast country and the government should support sport and provide technical support in the media and cultural fields he stressed in his speech that the state should have a significant contribution in supporting vocational training centers to provide job opportunities to combat poverty, which constitues a main axis for the spread of drugs.

She said some training centers were closed due to inavailability of the operating budget for training in welding and other operating mechanisms. In his speech, he mentioned that he presented studies for the states of Blue Nile and Kordofan, but faced challenges due to lack of budget and that it was not linked to the labor market. He strongly criticized the negligence of the Ministry of Higher Education of technical education, and that technical education represents the depth of development in society and a model To solve the problems of poverty to reduce drugs and demanded the state to support the childhood program according to the Charter of the Nations a United for Child Rights
