Final phase of the political process to be launched today

The signatories to the framework agreement, facilitated by the tripartite mechanism (the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the United Nations), call tomorrow the final stage of the political process that aims to reach a final and fair political agreement.

The statement added that broad consultations will follow on five specific issues in the political framework agreement, starting on Monday, January 9, 2023, in a four-day conference on the roadmap for renewing the process of dismantling the June 30 regime.
“The working groups and conferences are expected to produce roadmaps on each of the issues that will be considered in the final political agreement” the statement concluded.
