Daglo addresses conclusion of Police Day celebrations

Khartoum – Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo addressed Saturday at the Friendship Hall conclusion of the celebrations of Police Day.
At the outset of his address, the Vice-President expressed congratulations to the Sudanese people on the glorious Independence Day and the anniversary of the December Revolution as he also congratulated all Christian sects on the occasion of Christmas, wishing Sudan peace, stability, development and prosperity in the New Year.
“Loyal citizens, honorable presence, delegated by the President of the Sovereignty Council, I am pleased to address you today as we witness the celebration of the anniversary of the Sudanese Police Day, which was associated with sudanization of the post of Director General of Police on December 4, 1945,” Daglo said, pointing out that the occasion also coincides with Arab Police Day which has been marked by member states since 1972.
The Vice-President hailed all strong, steadfast and vigilant regular forces, who continued to work in full coordination among themselves to carry out their duty of protection of the country from all threats and dangers, recording a special tribute to the police forces, which bear great burdens in combating crime and preserving security, and safety of citizens.
Daglo noted that Sudanese Police witnessed great development in all fields during its career, which lasted for more than 115 years, pointing out to the efforts of Ministry of Interior in this connection.
The Vice-President affirmed that this year’s Police Day celebrations represent a great opportunity for review, accountability and performance evaluation, to enhance and strengthen the relationship with the community to achieve public satisfaction.
Daglo affirmed that that Police will always remain the safety valve of the state, believing in its golden motto (the police are at the service of the people), in compliance with its duty to protect and maintain security and stability in accordance with the constitution and the law.
