West Darfur Governor: Displaced Residents Will Return Home with Dignity and Victory

West Darfur Governor General Bahr Al-Din Adam Karama affirmed that people who were forcibly driven from their homes and displaced by the militia’s crimes will, God willing, return with dignity, honor, and victory—not broken or defeated.

Speaking to a limited press gathering on Wednesday, the governor said the victories achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and supporting forces are not merely military gains, but the beginning of reclaiming territory, preserving dignity, and enabling citizens to return to their towns and villages under the authority of the state and the rule of law.

Karama added: “We say to every internally displaced person and every refugee: your return is a right, your dignity is our duty, and the state will spare no effort to secure your homes and restore safety and stability.”

He stressed that the government’s commitment remains firm: “We will not stop until every displaced person returns home, every inch of West Darfur is restored to state authority, and every criminal is held accountable in accordance with the law.”
