Registrar General of Agricultural and Livestock Producers’ Organizations Receives World Food Programme (WFP) Delegation

As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), the Registrar General of Agricultural and Livestock Producers’ Organizations, Counselor Abu Bakr Osman Abdelrahman, received a WFP delegation at his office in Wad Madani today.

The meeting was attended by Professor Imad El-Din Ali, National Coordinator of the Wheat Program in Sudan; Mr. Cameron Casey, WFP Supply Officer; Mr. Ezzeldin Issa, WFP Program Coordinator in Al Jazirah State; and Mr. Yasser Ibrahim, Deputy Head of the WFP Office in Al Jazirah State.

The Registrar General expressed his appreciation to the World Food Programme, praising its significant role in supporting food security and contributing to the development of agricultural production.

The meeting reviewed areas of joint cooperation in supporting small-scale producers and farmers and discussed the programmes and projects implemented by WFP in Sudan’s agricultural and livestock production sectors.

For its part, the WFP delegation commended the efforts of the Registrar General and his team in establishing agricultural and livestock producers’ associations and organizations, particularly the important phase of forming specialized producer organizations to support agricultural development.

The delegation also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers by providing improved seeds, crop seeds, fertilizers, and access to production inputs and agricultural machinery, including tractors with their attachments, harvesters, and other equipment.

The delegation invited the Registrar General to attend the lottery ceremony for the allocation of agricultural machinery to the specialized producer organizations, scheduled for Monday, 6 July 2026.
