Federal Health Minister Discusses Post-War Health Projects with Canadian Sadagaat Delegation

Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met today in his office with a visiting delegation from the Canadian Sadaqaat , the Canadian International Development and Relief Organization , and the Turkish Blue Crescent International Organization to discuss priority health projects requiring support across various sectors of the healthcare system.
Welcoming the delegation, the Minister outlined a number of key projects in need of assistance, highlighting the continued support provided by international and UN organizations to Sudan’s health sector, particularly in the aftermath of the war. He also called for increased support to help restore and strengthen health services.
Meanwhile, Dr. Reem Jalal, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of International Health, praised the contributions made by Sadaqat in Sudan across several fields. In a press statement, she noted that the delegation reviewed the services provided by the organization since the war, as well as its future plans to support the health system while healthcare services are being restored in hospitals and health centers. She added that the organization pledged to expand its support in Khartoum and other states, including initiatives aimed at combating disease vectors.
For his part, Al-Amin Sabir, Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Sadaqaat Canada, stated that the meeting with the Federal Minister of Health and senior ministry officials focused on exploring avenues of cooperation between the Ministry and the visiting organizations, including the Canadian International Development and Relief Organization and the Turkish Blue Crescent International Organization.
He explained that discussions covered the current state of Sudan’s health system following the extensive damage caused by the war, and ways to assist in providing medical equipment, supplies, and other forms of support. He noted that the Minister identified several priority projects to guide future assistance, including the rehabilitation of health facilities and hospitals, provision of medical equipment, support for volunteers, and health awareness programs.
Sabir reaffirmed the organizations’ commitment to exerting every effort to implement these priorities and contribute to improving healthcare services for the Sudanese people.
