Doctors Without Borders: We are treating 116 people injured in RSF attacks

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported that since early May 2026, drone strikes attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have intensified around the town of Al-Tina in Sudan, near the border with Chad.

According to a statement from the organization, residents report that the strikes have become almost daily, with up to five or six incidents on some days.

MSF added that at the Al-Tina hospital in eastern Chad, medical teams, with support from MSF, are responding to frequent influxes of wounded.

According to its statement, since the beginning of May, 116 people injured in these airstrikes have received hospital treatment, including a growing number of women and children.

It continued, stating that on May 24, an airstrike targeted a crowded café in the Al-Tina market, resulting in 35 injured people arriving at the local hospital in a single day. Three patients were pronounced dead upon arrival, while others reportedly died at the scene.

“The injuries we treat are often very serious, including severe burns, blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and multiple injuries,” says Issiaka Abdou, head of the Doctors Without Borders mission in Chad.

He adds: “We recently treated a child with severe burns to his face, arms, and legs. Every delay in evacuation reduces the chances of survival for critically injured patients.”
