Al-Burhan Meets with French Parliamentary Delegation

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, met yesterday, Sunday, with a French parliamentary delegation headed by Christopher Mario. The meeting was also attended by Minni Arko Minnawi, Governor of Darfur.

The discussions focused on the situation in Sudan and the government’s efforts to achieve security and stability in the country.

Al-Burhan briefed the French parliamentary delegation on the violations and atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against civilians, as well as the systematic targeting of state resources, institutions, and infrastructure projects.

French parliamentarian Christopher Mario stated that the visit aimed to investigate the grave violations perpetrated by the RSF against civilians in Darfur and other regions.

He added that his country maintains close relations with Sudan and is working with European partners to ensure Sudan’s unity. He noted that he had submitted a request to the French Parliament to designate the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as a terrorist organization, given its inhumane practices and crimes against civilians.

He added that the French Foreign Minister stated he would visit Sudan in the near future, accompanied by the German Foreign Minister. He said this visit demonstrates France’s desire to strengthen its relations with Sudan as a strategic partner, emphasizing that stability in Sudan is crucial for stability in the entire region.
