Saudi Arabia Announces New Support for Sudan

Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, announced during his participation in the humanitarian coordination meeting on Sudan held in Berlin, that the Kingdom will provide new financial support of $145 million as part of the 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan.

During the sessions that discussed the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis, Al-Khuraiji reviewed the scale of ongoing Saudi aid, stating that the Kingdom’s total vital contributions to Sudan have exceeded $3 billion, while direct relief aid and assistance through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center have surpassed $233 million.

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that this meeting embodies the shared international responsibility towards Sudan to preserve its sovereignty and unity, stressing that Riyadh’s priorities include the necessity of achieving an immediate ceasefire and protecting Sudanese state institutions from collapse.

Al-Khuraiji warned of the dangers of the emergence of parallel state structures and institutions, considering them a harbinger of further complications and delays in finding solutions. He reiterated that the only way out is a comprehensive, inclusive Sudanese-led political process that strengthens national institutions and respects the country’s full sovereignty.
