Ministry of Social Development Celebrates International Women’s Day

The Ministry of Social Development in Khartoum State, represented by the General Directorate of Women and Family, in cooperation with the Khartoum State Security Authority, celebrated International Women’s Day, with the presence of a large number of community leaders and women leaders in the state. This year’s celebration was themed “Rights and Justice: Action for Women and Girls.”
Siddiq Hassan Freini, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development and Acting Minister, stressed that this day represents the embodiment of the Government of Sudan’s full commitment to international conventions that preserve women’s rights, emphasizing that Sudanese women have a special status and a profound impact on the formation of societal and leadership thought.
For her part, Ms. Safia Al-Samani, Director of the General Directorate of Women and Family, stressed that caring for women’s issues falls within the ethical social responsibility, calling for the promotion of initiatives that contribute to their protection and economic and social empowerment.
Brigadier General Sami Al-Dhai, representative of the Khartoum State Security Authority, revealed the Commission’s interest in women’s issues as a strategic priority, stressing that the Commission’s participation comes in recognition of the leadership role of women in all sovereign institutions and their direct impact on decision-making.
