Member of the Sovereignty Council, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar, stresses the importance of localizing health services

In a meeting at the office of the Federal Minister of Health in Khartoum, in the presence of a number of ministry leaders, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar, a member of the Sovereignty Council, stressed the importance of localizing health services in the states, praising the performance of the Federal Ministry of Health during the past period. She also emphasized the need to support the national industry and develop plans for the advancement of health in the states. Additionally, she pointed to the significant benefits of the heart research project in the state of Gezira, especially in the field of training medical staff. She highlighted the importance of the national ambulance program and called for the localization of prosthetic services.

The Federal Minister of Health expressed his happiness with Dr. Salma’s visit and meeting with the Ministry and provided a comprehensive overview of the current health situation. He explained that the Ministry of Health was one of the first ministries to return to its headquarters in Khartoum State, indicating that the ministry’s teams worked during the war period in the states of Gezira, Kassala, the Nile River, and the Red Sea, and that all public and sub-departments have now returned to practicing their duties.

The Minister reviewed the stages of the Ministry’s work during the war, pointing out that the medical supplies succeeded in absorbing the first shock by providing medicine in its branches in the states and that the first stage was the response phase.
