Why Take the Flesh and Leave the Bones bare?!- Ministry of Higher Education Pensioners’ !

By: Prof. Kirya Ahmed Nasr
A motto raised by our ancestors when kids used to go starting their elementary schooling. Here, it is pleasurable to reuse it for an odd and strange incident that happened to the chairprofessors, professors, doctors, and lecturers of our governmental universities who turned pensioners at this catastrophic situations.
Those torch-bears have, in fact, spent decades of their life in this “life of chalk.” They used to sweat to hand over their fruitful experience to unnumberable generations behind. Fantastically, they calculate the seconds, the minutes , and hours to prepare themselves to fight the most dangerous enemy. Yep, they turned up their sleeves to fight “ignorance”.
Then, decades passed by, and the guys, folded up and faded out with the so dear and unforgettable great memories. The guys, then to tell these memories continually whenever they happen to meet or when they keep up waiting on the phone line excessively talking their friends. In fact, they will be calling their colleagues for hours and hours; ruminating the so dear stories of the sweetest ever incidents of their life; of the old good days.
Those honourable doctors were, and are, of a so decent place of respect. Whenever they meet their students, who were scattered in all aspects of life; occupied so greater positions. Those so called students, pay back what their doctors had paid already. A tit for tat. They paid them the so precious thing in life; yep, knowledge. The most ever expensive “thing” those doctors hand over to their students at tertairy level.
Alas ! Those doctors are turned pensioners, retired, no longer to walk in classrooms (CRs); the loveliest ever places they regularly used to visit. Those places in which they sweated their bombastic youth in. Now they are turned “places” in their vivid memory. They, in fact, every now and then, recall these sweetest moments and days. The loveliest moments of their lives ; socially, educationally, and culturally.
At the beginning of each year, nowadys, a good number of these professors and teaching staff members, receive their long-waited letters ; a thank-you letter that heaps sweeter expressions that make one shed tears. Typically, like the tears that Alan Paton shed on his “beloved country” . Now, we “cry, our beloved universities”.
Just imagine, all of a sudden, a letter to remove a professor from a job that they have addicted to the bones. Just a piece of paper to transfer them silently home. Those guys during this time of war were highly neglected. No one turned to them to see how they “fight” life; shooting up of prices ; availing chronic diseases medications ; availing the other necessities of life.
A call for the “Prime Minister” to rescue the situation. To straighten the way. We are standing on the pavement and at the edge of poverty. Penniless, dreaming of what we deserve at this juncture of time.
-Pension couldn’t have age
-after the sixties turn page
-experience is fruit of sweat
-we would turn active albiet
