SSMO: More than 1,000 Export and Import Certificates Issued in River Nile State Last Year

Dr. Ahmed Sayed Ahmed, Director of the River Nile State branch of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), affirmed the contribution of technical and regulatory activities to improving institutional performance and developing services provided, with the aim of adhering to standard specifications.

He emphasized that the performance report for the past year (2025) demonstrated the significant qualitative leap witnessed by the sector in the field of technical laboratories, through the provision of an XRF device for precious metal testing and the operation of microbiology, electrical, and cement laboratories.

The report indicated the issuance of 1,292 import and export certificates, laboratory sample analyses, 22,120 local inspection certificates, and the inspection and sealing of 5,210,643 tons of gold jewelry. It also noted the implementation of 7 campaigns targeting non-compliant goods, 114,971 measurement and calibration activities, 132 media programs to promote a culture of standardization and consumer protection, and 23 programs in the areas of partnerships and corporate social responsibility.
