Ministry of Energy Resumes Operations in Khartoum
The Ministry of Energy officially resumed operations from its headquarters in Khartoum today, Sunday, in the presence of the Minister, Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim Ahmed, Engineer Al-Sadiq Jaber, a member of the Undersecretary’s Steering Committee, several directors of general and specialized departments, heads of sections, and a large number of ministry employees.
The Minister and the Undersecretary toured the various departments, inspecting the workflow and ensuring the presence of employees.
The Minister called on employees to join forces and work diligently to advance the nation, expressing his pleasure at meeting with them in their workplace after the war. He pledged to resolve any problems they face upon returning.
The Minister noted that his decision to cancel the electricity price increase was made in consideration of the difficult circumstances citizens are facing due to the war.
He urged employees to contribute to the reconstruction of the ministry so that it can return to its normal functioning. The Minister revealed the Ministry’s plan for the current year in the oil sector, which includes offering investments in secure states, describing the oil fields there as promising. He also mentioned efforts to resume work on the Heglig oil field.
He pointed to the Ministry’s efforts through the electricity sector, which has made significant strides in Khartoum to rehabilitate power stations and provide cables and transformers under difficult circumstances, promising citizens that the electricity problem in all sectors would soon be resolved.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul-Rafi Babiker, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation Workers’ Union, affirmed the union’s readiness to cooperate with management to increase production and rebuild what the war destroyed.
He stated that the current phase requires concerted efforts and selflessness to restore the oil sector to its leading role in the national economy.
He wished the country progress and the armed forces victory.
