The Ranking of the General Educational Institutions and that of the Higher Education ; unfortunately missed us this time ! ( 1)

We were the leaders and pioneers when it comes to the question of “schooling and education”. We used to have a stronger system that distinguished us from our counterparts of the Arabian and African countries alike.
Not to exaggrate, most of the Gulf countries used to contract and ‘hire’ Sudanese ‘TEACHERS’. In all fields and domains of specialization. They hire Sudanese teachers, that was only for their efficiency and high qualification. Particularly, in English language and Arabic.
We used to have a unique system of teacher training; both at the general level and at the higher education.The institutes of teachers’ training and the faculties of education that qualifies secondary schools teachers.
Bakhet Alruda Institute was purposely erected for only this purpose. It used to effectively and meticulously carry out the job and profession of training for all Sudanese teachers the country-wide. Both, for elementary and intermediate schools teachers.They used to have a kind of training that qualified them to work wherever they go. A training that to a far extent looks similar to that of a ‘Military College’.
They (trainees) can orient themselves, typically like a chameleon, wherever they go; they can change ‘colour’.
So, a teacher used to be a teacher. A teacher to the meaning of the word. A one who used to teach for the sake of teaching. Just his job; a life of chalk. A one-way road ; from home at 6 Anne Meridian (a.m) and back home at 2:30 Panne Meridian (p.m). No “private fashioned dietary” like the ‘chaotic battle of today’ in which every ‘Tom and Dick’ holds a piece of coloured chalk; invading the many houses of the ‘victims’.
At the time when were “pupils” – we the generation of the 50s- we had had a kind of education that was built in a 4 year-ladder. Elementary (4), intermediate (4), and Secondary (4).The syllabi were also so strong to qualify even those who scored at the ‘bottom’ and left as school leavers.
Here, now, “don’t let’s weep for the splashed milk”. No thing that remains as it is.Things are on a move, we can easily change this “opaque picture” that is drawn on our face. Let’s all up to straighten the ladder and to start climbing up to the PEAK !
But, how can we “straighten the shadow and the wood is serpentine?!”
