The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Continues in Jabal Awlia Local Government

The Director General of the Ministry of Social Development and the Acting Minister, Siddiq Hassan Freini, reiterated the commitment of the Khartoum State Government to pay attention to women’s issues and raise the level of awareness of the importance of activating laws, legislations, and psychological and social support programs in implementation of the directive of the Governor of Khartoum State.
His stressed that Sudanese women are one of the most subjected to violence by the Rapid Support Militia, pointing to their condemnation and rejection of all violations, and he praised the awareness lectures on digital violence and its psychological and social effects and the selection of the age group of female secondary students, starting in the locality of Jabal Awliya in coordination with the Ministry of Education.

Director of Social Development in the locality,Salwa Al-Sayed, confirmed that her administration seeks to empower women socially and economically and enhance their role in society.
Meanwhile, the Director of Educational Affairs in the locality, Taj Eddin Hussein, stated that religious teachings and educational curricula confirm the value and status of women, pointing to their protection against violence by educating them, raising their capacities and training them in all fields.
