Al-Hilu Withdraws Forces from Darfur Battlefronts

The leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Abdelaziz al-Hilu, issued an urgent order to his forces to withdraw from the battlefronts in Darfur and return immediately to military positions in areas under their control in South Kordofan.

It is worth noting that al-Hilu has been under significant pressure from some influential leaders in the SPLM-N and members of the Nuba Mountains, especially after it became clear that Abdel Rahim Dagalo intended to occupy Kauda, ​​the movement’s stronghold, after emptying it of fighters.

Al-Hilu has been subjected to a series of threats, intimidation, and harassment from Abdel Rahim Dagalo, who has demanded that he continue fighting in Darfur and that his forces adhere to the directives of the militia’s field commanders. Al-Hilu has also been subjected to assassination attempts and attempts to spy on his calls and meetings.
