May God restore the exile of Khartoum

🖊️ Khalaf Allah Alobaid Hussein

May God restore the exile of Khartoum, that city that hearts long for as a bird longs for the warmth of its nest, and as the Nile yearns for its first bank.

Adorned in its rich robes, perfumed with the scent of rain, its palm trees sway with joy, as if ushering itself into a new era of hope.

Oh Khartoum, melody of childhood and memory of quiet evenings, how we long for your mornings when you shined upon people with tenderness, and how we miss the roar of life in your streets when the smile faded from your features.

Now you return… towering like the Nile, fresh like grass after rain, beautiful as we knew you, embracing your children with love and peace.

Khartoum returns to wash away its pain with light, to embrace those scattered in exile, and to restore to life the flavor that had been lost in the hustle and bustle of absence.

Oh God, make her joy everlasting, plant peace in her paths, and restore her to her ancient glory and her timeless beauty.
