.Sharq Al Nile (East Nile) locality launched a major campaign for cleanliness and environmental sanitation organized by the Sadagaat Charity Organization within its cash-for-work project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the East Nile Local Sanitation Authority. This event was attended by the Director of the Cleanliness Authority, representatives from the Sadagaat Charity Organization, the UNDP, and a group of directors and coordinators of administrative units.

The “Cash for Work” campaign aims to promote local cleanliness in East Nile across all its sectors, benefiting 350 community members for 15 days . Participants receive a financial contribution in exchange for their actual participation in cleaning and disinfection activities, which include removing waste, disinfecting, dismantling obstacles from roads, and rehabilitating public spaces.

The campaign is not limited to the practical aspect but also includes a package of awareness activities, workshops, and training lectures. These sessions aim to raise the participants’ awareness and enhance their skills in the field of community advancement and build their capacity to ensure the sustainability of efforts and achieve a long-term positive impact.

Sadagaat Charity Organization is a registered charity of the Voluntary and Humanitarian Action Commission, which has been active in assisting vulnerable groups for more than 15 years, during which many successful projects, whether seasonal or ongoing, have been implemented through the support of philanthropists from within and outside Sudan. It operates under four divisions: Feeding, Health, WASH, and Education. The implementation of these projects is managed by an integrated administrative body, starting with membership in the Sadagaat community and ending with an executive unit that directly supervises daily activities.

The small executive body that implements the projects depends on administrative competence in coordination and scientific methodology.

Youth are the pillar of society and its most important components; they represent the driving force of progress and change. They possess great energy and creativity that drive development and prosperity in all social, economic, and cultural sectors. Investing in communities through their youth, by providing education, empowering them in decision-making, and supporting their initiatives, is key to building a better future.

Young people also have immense potential, limitless creativity, and a desire to make a positive difference in their communities. They should be given a role in making decisions that concern them and the future of society, and their opinions and suggestions should be heard.

Such campaigns are very important; directing the energies and abilities of young people towards meaningful actions and development projects that benefit the community is a” National Duty “.
