The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare pledges to develop social security systems

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, held talks today (Tuesday) with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, Dr. Lutfi Hak Erbakan, on the sidelines of his participation in the first meeting of the Executive Council of the General Assembly of the Islamic Action Center in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

Saleh said on his Facebook page that the meeting discussed the path of strong relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of labor and social protection.

He stressed Sudan’s keenness to benefit from Turkish experiences in developing social security systems and expanding the umbrella of health insurance for vulnerable groups.

Saleh said that the meeting discussed the importance of activating the vocational training program and training trainers in order to improve the efficiency of national cadres, reduce unemployment rates, and create an environment for recovery and reconstruction.

He said that the meeting discussed the pivotal role of the Islamic Action Center as a platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences between member states and the need to respond to the needs of the countries most affected by crises, especially Sudan, in the issues of employment, social protection and human development.

The Turkish Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security affirmed his country’s readiness to expand cooperation with Sudan, especially in the fields of vocational training and the exchange of technical expertise to support the Sudanese government’s efforts in the stage of economic and social recovery.
