Minawi: The US administration must reconsider its decision

Regarding the US administration’s decision against Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and head of the Justice and Equality Movement, Commander Minni Arko Minawi wrote the following on his Facebook page:

Like others, I followed the US Treasury’s decision to impose sanctions on Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, accusing him of fueling the war. Here, I say the following: As we all know, Dr. Jibril continued to fight and work tirelessly to prevent this war. He also watched from a distance, without intervening, for nine months, neutrally urging the parties to return to dialogue. He only took a step into this battle after everyone forced us to engage in the behavior of the Rapid Support Forces, which amounted to war crimes and genocide.
We have come to the conclusion that the battle has become the only means of survival, so avoiding it is either eternal slavery or submission to ethnic cleansing. Both are bitter choices. His forces, like other joint forces composed of sons of victims of the Janjaweed wars, advanced with others to defend themselves first and foremost, and to protect the unity of the country and preserve its sovereignty. .
Therefore, it is incumbent upon the American administration to review the situation and verify the correct information, away from the rumors that are being spread that stem from sources whose origin is the political positions and hostilities of the opponents.
