Minister of Energy Discusses Activating Cooperation in Electricity and Oil Sectors with Saudi Ambassador

Energy Minister, Engineer Moatasem Ibrahim, discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of electricity and oil in his office today with Saudi Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar. The meeting addressed arrangements for the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the middle of this month and their meeting with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Minister of Energy stated that we have a number of projects and studies ready to establish a strategic partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Energy, and we expect them to be beneficial to the two brotherly countries. These include projects with Aramco and electrical transformer manufacturing and assembly companies. He pointed to the deep relationship between the Sudanese and Saudi peoples, appreciating the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in standing with Sudan and its efforts, through the Jeddah talks, to stop the war in Sudan.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, said that the Kingdom gives Sudan special attention and supports its unity and cohesion, pointing out the importance of the visit of the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, hoping that the outcomes of this meeting will be joint work and major economic and service projects that will benefit Sudan and Saudi Arabia.
