Wahbi Mohamed Mukhtar Sworn in as President of the Constitutional Court

Dr. Wahbi Mohamed Mukhtar was sworn in today as President of the Constitutional Court before the Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan. The oath was attended by a representative of the Chief Justice and Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Gali Ali Youssef.

Dr. Wahbi Mohamed Mukhtar pointed out that the Constitutional Court is responsible for protecting the constitution, freedoms, and public rights, and for monitoring the performance of the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities.

Dr. Wahbi added that the jurisdiction and work of the Constitutional Court are purely legal and aim to establish a balance between the laws of the state.
