Red Crescent completes its preparations to participate in environmental sanitation campaigns in Khartoum

Dr. Mohamed Abdullah, , confirmed the readiness of the society’s staff to launch field work campaigns to improve environmental sanitation. This came during the launch of an awareness workshop on disease vectors and diseases associated with the autumn season.

He pointed out that the current situation calls for rapid intervention by all relevant authorities to limit the spread of diseases, educate the community on how to address public health threats, and prevent the spread of epidemics. This is achieved by training Red Crescent staff in the state’s seven localities to promote healthy habits and guide the community on environmental cleanliness and how to handle waste and war remnants in safe, environmentally friendly ways that ensure the restoration and stabilization of the state’s health situation and the safe return of all citizens to the state.

He pointed out that the launch of the environmental sanitation campaigns targets the most densely populated localities and focuses on combating disease vectors. The Khartoum State Red Crescent Society has been directed by the Emergency Council to intervene quickly and contribute to resolving this health crisis, which has become a health threat in Khartoum State.
