The First Aid Training Workshop for Port Sudan International Airport Workers Concludes

The first aid training workshop was concluded at Port Sudan International Airport with the participation of fifty workers, as part of the “A Paramedic at Every Airport” project, launched by the Federal Ministry of Health through the National Agency for Emergency Care and Ambulance, in cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society. The project aims to train staff working in all airports in Sudan to enhance the readiness of rapid response to emergency cases, and to provide first aid to the injured.

Dr. Roaa Abdel Salam Mohamed confirmed the Agency’s readiness to train all airport workers, noting that they represent the first line of defense in protecting passengers and citizens. She also explained that the coordination between the Port Sudan Airport Administration and the National Ambulance contributes to the transfer of critical cases to hospitals, and that the program comes within the Ministry’s plan to train all community cadres, in order to enhance coordination between air response and health readiness, and ensure effective medical support in search and rescue operations.

She pointed out that the training included cadres from various sections of the airport, and they will be part of the “Paramedic in Every Home” campaign, stressing the importance of the community’s contribution to this type of training, and that the workshops will continue at Kassala and Khartoum airports.

The Director of Port Sudan International Airport, Yahya Ahmed Mohamed Ali, expressed the importance of the workshop for the workers, considering it a basic requirement for the licensing of airports in cases of emergencies and disasters. He expressed his hope that the upcoming workshops will include Dongola, Kassala, Meroe, Damazin, and Khartoum airports, stressing that the program will enhance the readiness of Khartoum Airport and restore it to its vital role.
