Khartoum State Approves 2024-2025 Academic Calendar

Khartoum State government meeting, chaired by the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, approved the 2024-2025 academic calendar today, Monday.

According to a report submitted by the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Qarib Allah Mohamed Ahmed, teachers will begin their school attendance on Sunday, August 24, to help prepare the school environment and address shortcomings.

The calendar set September 7 as the start date for the final semesters of primary, intermediate, and secondary school, while continuing to register students for the various classes to determine the actual need for seating, textbooks, classrooms, and restrooms. Based on the number of registered students, the situation will be assessed. The council granted the Ministry of Education one week to evaluate and determine the school date for the remaining semesters.

The state’s Director General of Education said there is a strong desire among parents to resume school to make up for the years their children have missed.
