Khaled Al-Eiser Affirms Hope Government’s Interest in Providing a Conducive Environment for Foreign Media in the Country

Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khaled Al-Eiser, affirmed the Hope Government’s interest in providing a conducive environment for foreign media operating in Sudan, while taking into account professional regulations related to national security issues and in a manner that does not conflict with the state’s security concerns.

During a meeting at his office in Port Sudan today, in the presence of the Undersecretary for Information, Ms. Sumaya Al-Hadi, with officials, correspondents, and representatives of foreign media outlets, the Minister indicated that the country is going through a critical phase in which it is waging an existential war, which requires caution and care in addressing issues related to national security.

Media representatives reviewed a number of challenges and obstacles facing their work, particularly in the Red Sea State, calling for more support and facilitation from the Ministry of Information to enhance the performance of media institutions. They also expressed their understanding of the security conditions facing the country.

During the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen mechanisms for continuous and direct communication and coordination between foreign channels and the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism, to serve the interests of all parties. They also agreed to adhere to official channels regarding media activities.
