Senegal Affirms Its Support to Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

Senegal, represented by Fatou Diop Cissé, Chair of the Senegalese Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, Senegalese Abroad, and International Cooperation, affirmed Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This came during a meeting today between Sudan’s Ambassador to Senegal, Ambassador Abdul Ghani Al-Naeem Awad Al-Karim, and Ms. Fatou Diop Cissé, in the presence of the Committee’s Vice Chair and the member responsible for parliamentary foreign relations with North Africa.

The Ambassador reviewed the historical bilateral relations between the two countries and the developments they have witnessed, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and exchange in all fields.

He also addressed the external conspiracy and targeting of Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and peace, which recently manifested in the attempt to establish an illegal, fictitious organization led by a terrorist militia, in a flagrant violation of the rights and capabilities of the Sudanese people.

For her part, Ms. Fatou Diop Cissé stated that Senegal’s position on Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and peace is unwavering, based on respect for international law and a commitment to African integration and the stability, security, peace, and development of African countries.

The Chairperson of the Committee welcomed further cooperation and exchange of expertise and experiences between the two brotherly countries, as well as coordination on regional and international issues.
