Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Electricity Leaders Oversee Reconstruction in Khartoum State

A high-level delegation led by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil, the Acting Director General of the Sudan Electricity Company, and the General Managers of the electricity companies conducted a comprehensive inspection visit today to a number of transmission and distribution stations and thermal power plants in Khartoum State.
The visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage to the electricity infrastructure caused by the rebel militias and to inspect the progress of ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance operations.
The field visit included distribution stations, including the Military College Station, Al-Muqran Station, the Martyr Dr. Mahmoud Sharif Thermal Power Station, and Abdo Jaafar Power Station.
The delegation viewed the extensive damage caused by the rebel militias and praised the tremendous efforts made by the maintenance teams and sector workers to restore power to the affected areas.
During the visit, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil held intensive meetings at work sites, where he heard detailed reports on the progress of work and the challenges facing the maintenance teams.
He emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work to ensure the restoration of electricity as quickly as possible, emphasizing the importance of maintaining service lines and residential neighborhoods and resolving all administrative issues facing workers to enable them to increase productivity.
In a statement, the Director General of the Electricity Transmission Company expressed his gratitude to the sector’s workers for their tremendous efforts, stressing that they are doing their utmost to restore the grid, understanding the urgent need to provide electricity to citizens and support reconstruction efforts.
He also thanked the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil for his inspection visit and continued support.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil praised the workers in the electricity sector, appreciating their sincere national efforts, stressing that their role is no less important than that of the armed forces in defeating the enemy and restoring security, reconstruction, and safety to the country.
He pointed out to the extent of the destruction and urged citizens to rationalize consumption and avoid illegal connections.
He also called on the public and private sectors to actively participate in the reconstruction of the electricity sector, stressing that providing the necessary resources will significantly contribute to reducing the country’s dark spots.
This visit comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and ensure the return of normal life to Khartoum State.
