Ministry of Health bids farewell to the current Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, praised the great role played by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in supporting maternal and child health in Sudan during the war period, as well as continuing its work in hard-to-reach areas, such as the city of El Fasher, through partnership with field organizations such as the Patients Aid Fund.

This came during the farewell ceremony of the (UNFPA) Country Director, Ms. Argentina, which was held at the Office of the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, in the presence of a number of directors of public administrations.

Dr. Haitham praised the (UNFPA) contributions in providing medical supplies for maternal health, training health personnel, and participating in the preparation of treatment protocols, stressing the importance of continuing this cooperation.

Mrs. Argentina expressed her thanks to the Ministry of Health for the close coordination and joint efforts during her tenure, noting the Fund’s commitment to continue supporting health projects in Sudan, paying attention to medical staff and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, and thanked all supporting government agencies.
