Google Veo 3: The End Of Reality

We seem to be living in an era where reality is no longer real and seeing is no longer believing. A boundary between truth or fiction. Welcome to Google’s Veo 3, a new generation of Artificial Intelligence. It is by far the greatest leap into untouched Al territory. Veo 3 is Al technology which can turn text into hyper-realistic video, or in other words generative artificial intelligence..

What makes this technology different from the rest is its capability to create nearly indistinguishable videos from reality. Which means this opens the door for endless possibilities. No budget or skills or efforts will be required. That’s because you can stimulate anything without the need to hire people or workers to do the job. However with this technology there comes a disadvantage and somehow a dark side. There is a chance for fake news to become reality.

Even video evidence or photos can become meaningless. This creates a void where bad people can take advantage of these artificial intelligence tools for their use. Blackmailers will no longer need to take advantage of compromising evidence in fact they can just generate it. Anything can be fabricated or human action can be easily manipulated with just a prompt. Which makes this a double edged sword no doubt. It can also be used for blackmail, fraud or disinformation. Not to mention that there are no laws which criminalize synthetic impersonation or accountability.

Humans have been trying to develop this technology for years but we haven’t asked ourselves if we should. What could be the consequences of these advancements and the negative impacts it can have on society as a whole. One thing for sure, artificial intelligence will keep evolving but our ability to handle the consequences may not. This is a test of technology against ethics and it’s consequences for many years to come.
