90% of new cholera cases in Khartoum state

The meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center revealed the escalation of cholera infections in a number of states, which amounted to 2,729 infections within a week, including 172 deaths. It was pointed out that 90% of the new infections are in Khartoum state, especially in Karari, Omdurman, and Ombada, followed by North Kordofan, Sennar, Gazira , White Nile, and River Nile.

The meeting announced that the cumulative cases of dengue fever reached 12,886, including 20 deaths, while 6 states recorded a total of 54 cases of measles, including two deaths. It was noted that meningitis cases in 6 states amounted to 134 infections, including 12 deaths, indicating that 73.9% of infections are in the state of Gezira . Additionally, it was explained that 91% of the infections with hepatitis C (E) are from Kassala state.

The Environmental Health and Food Control Report noted several activities, including the reading of 1,415 sources within the network, out of a target of 946 sources, achieving 150% of the target. Of these, 328 are non-conforming and 1,052 are conforming.

A team arrived from the Federation headed by the Acting Director of the General Department of Health Emergency and Epidemic Control, who held a meeting with the relevant ministries and authorities, and the division of work was into several axes, committees and competent bodies
