Sudanese Foreign Minister Meeting with its Chinese counterpart

Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddiq, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in Beijing, on the occasion of the end of his term as Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the People’s Republic of China and his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Chinese Foreign Minister renewed his country’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Sudan and maintain the high level of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries signed ten years ago.
He affirmed China’s support for Sudan to restore peace and stability throughout its country.
He expressed his confidence that Sudan, under the leadership of His Excellency, the Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, is able to reach peace and stability.
Minister Wang Yi also congratulated Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddik on his assignment.
He expressed his appreciation for his achievements in strengthening the close historical relations of the two countries during his tenure as the ambassador’s duties.
For his part, Minister Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddik gave an explanation of the developments in Sudan, especially the great victories achieved by the Sudanese army by defeating the rebel militia from large areas in the country.
He addressed China’s prospective role in Sudan’s reconstruction efforts, pointing out to the importance of continuing to exchange support in international forums.
The Minister also expressed his thanks to the Chinese government for the cooperation he found during his tenure as Ambassador to Sudan in Beijing.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry had held a formal dinner yesterday, farewell to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
