The Federal Emergency Operations Center held its weekly meeting today, Tuesday, March 25, in the center’s hall at the Public Health Laboratory in Kassala City, reviewing the health situation in the country due to cholera, dengue fever, and malaria, and interventions from departments at the Federal Ministry of Health. The meeting stressed the continued decline in the rate of cholera infection in the states affected by the epidemic, while the rate of dengue fever increased.

The surveillance report and information on the epidemiological situation of cholera confirmed the registration of 11 new infections, with no deaths, increasing the cumulative number of infections in 88 localities across 12 states to 58,263 injuries, including 1,523 deaths. Meanwhile, dengue fever was recorded during the eleventh week of March 15-21, with 247 infections, including one death, mostly from Khartoum State, Karary localities, east of the Nile, and Bahri.

The quarantine report revealed that (11,626) people arrived through the various entry points, while (9,315) people left.
