The meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center confirmed the decline in the rate of cholera infection, indicating that 23 new cases of cholera were recorded, including one death, bringing the cumulative number of infections from 88 localities in 12 states to 57,135 cases, including 1,506 deaths. The surveillance and information report at the weekly meeting of the center today, Tuesday, in the emergency hall of the public health laboratory in Kassala city, in the presence of Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim Asferia, noted the continued follow-up on Ebola in Uganda and the tightening of measures. The Environmental Health and Food Control Report pointed out that a number of activities were carried out in various fields, including food control, environmental sanitation, and water safety. In addition, the health promotion report revealed interventions in the White Nile, as well as home visits, community dialogues, messages in the media and social media, and interventions in isolation.
