With the support and sponsorship of the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, the major campaign to support Khartoum North locality was launched yesterday with the participation of a large number of government institutions, organizations and volunteers.
The Secretary-General of the Khartoum State Government, Al-Hadi Abdul Sayed, attended the launch of the campaign in the presence of the Executive Director of Bahri locality, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Abdul Rahman, and the Executive Director of Karari locality, Ahmed Al-Mustafa.
Karri locality and Omdurman locality participated in the campaign with workers, equipment and mechanisms that focused on cleaning and sweeping the streets, in addition to the participation of the youth of the and the Khartoum State Scouts in cleaning and removing trees.
Meanwhile, the Roads and Bridges Authority deployed many mechanisms that opened the roads, removed the barricades and removed the burned vehicles along the road extending from Halfaya to Abu Halima as a first stage.
At the same time, the mine clearance device worked to remove mines, explosives and foreign objects from public roads.
The Secretary General of the Khartoum State Government, Al-Hadi Abdul Sayed, said that this campaign is of interest and support to the state government within the framework of the great support directed to Khartoum North locality in order to prepare the area for the return of citizens.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health is working to implement a major campaign to combat disease vectors and kill mosquitoes and flies.
This campaign will continue for long periods, as these services were absent during the presence of the rebel militia.
The campaign will continue until the process of preparing the environment in the locality is completed.
