Al-Burhan witnesses women’s celebrations of Independence Day

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, witnessed today in Omdurman the women’s celebrations of Independence Day, which were organized by the women’s sectors of the Popular Resistance in Khartoum State, in the presence of the member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, 1st. Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Hamza, and the leaders of the regular forces, Lieutenant General Al-Burhan, while addressing the celebration, praised the role of Sudanese women in the Battle of Dignity, describing them as the pillars of society and the makers of men, stressing that Sudanese women are distinguished by exceptional qualities and bear the greatest burden of wars, pointing out that their steadfastness and support played the most prominent role in facing challenges and thwarting plans against Sudan.
His Excellency announced upcoming amendments to the constitutional document, including allocating specific percentages for women at all levels of governance and administration
He directed the media to shed light on women’s contributions in various fields, pledging to develop initiatives that contribute to their empowerment.
For his part, 1st. Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta stressed the status of Sudanese women and their historical roles in the struggle, praising their steadfast stand during the Dignity War.
He paid special tribute to women in Al-Fasher for the courage and bravery they showed in facing challenges.
